A VILLAGE will start its Christmas celebrations this weekend.

St. David's Church, in Tudhoe Village, near Spennymoor, County Durham, will hold a Christmas coffee morning with a variety of stalls, a tombola, raffle, craft activities for children, coffee and mince pies and a visit from Santa on Saturday, December 6, from 10am to 12.30pm.

On Saturday, December 13, at 7pm, Ferryhill Town Band will perform a seasonal concert and singalong at the church. Wine and nibbles will be available, tickets £5.

On Friday, December 19, from 5pm, there will be carol singing around the Christmas tree on the village green and then a lantern procession to the Church hall where there will be refreshments.

To round off the celebrations there will be a Christingle service in St David's Church on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, December 24 at 4pm, mince pies and mulled wine will be served after the service.
