POLICE have remained tight-lipped about an incident involving a large number of resources on the outskirts of Darlington.
Several police vehicles were called to a livery and caravan storage premises, just off the A66, on Monday (December 1) afternoon.
Officers at the scene declined to comment on the nature of the incident.
A Duram Police spokeswoman told The Northern Echo the police activity was in response to information received concerning alleged stolen property.
She was unable to expand further, except to say there had been no arrests made.
Two uniformed officers were stationed at the entrance to the property, turning away vehicles trying to enter the site.
A force helicopter was seen hovering over the property.
Police in Darlington said a man had been reported missing from home in the area on Monday afternoon, but has since been found safe and well.
It appears the missing from home incident is unconnected to the stolen property investigation.
