ROYAL Air Force Cadets received awards from The Lord Lieutenant of County Durham at their annual presentation evening.
The Lord Lieutenant, Sue Snowdon, presented 19 awards to Royal Air Force Air Cadets from 2505 Squadron in Bishop Auckland.
More than 100 guests attended the event to see the cadets receive awards for target shooting, adventure training, swimming, leadership, community involvement, overall achievement and endeavour.
The Squadron Commander, Flight Lieutenant Ian Pepper said: “The cadets have worked extremely well over the past 12 months, as we celebrate 50 years as a squadron, it is a great honour for us to have the Lord Lieutenant present our annual awards.”
Award winner, Cadet Samuel Cooper, 16, of Frosterley, said: “To receive an award is great, but for it to be presented by the Lord Lieutenant is just fantastic.”
The Bishop Auckland squadron of Air Cadets meet on a Monday and Thursday from 7pm in the Reserve Forces Centre, St Andrews Road, Bishop Auckland.
