A MAN has been arrested and charged in connection with an attack on a teenage girl as she left the grounds of her school.
The 15-year-old girl was assaulted as she left Joseph Rowntree School at New Earswick, York, on Friday afternoon.
At about 4pm she was walking by herself out of the school grounds when she was allegedly approached by a man who assaulted her and put his hands on her head.
But the girl fought back and bit the man on his hand. He did not speak to her and left the area when she told him to leave her alone.
The girl was physically uninjured but was left very shaken up. She was attended to by a paramedic at the school as a precaution.
A 27-year-old York man was arrested later that day and today, November 30, was charged with assault. He was remanded in custody and will appear before local magistrates tomorrow, December 1.
