A YOUNG would-be burglar bit off more than he could chew when he attempted to raid a house at the weekend.
The youth broke into a house in Baildon Close, Acomb in York, but the 66-year-old householder found the intruder in the kitchen.
Then the man's dog bit the youngster on the leg and the would-be thief ran off, police said today.
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon and the suspect was described as around 5ft 5ins tall, with short dark hair which was parted.
He was wearing light grey tracksuit bottoms, a light-coloured v-neck jumper and a navy blue raincoat. He may have an injury to his leg as a result of the dog bite.
