A MAN suffered a broken jaw after being struck in the face with a machete.
The 22-year-old was at a friend’s house on Bishopton Road, in Stockton, when two men entered the house and assaulted him at about 7.30pm on Sunday, November 23.
The victim was struck in the face with the weapon before he was walked to his own home in Newtown Avenue by his attackers.
He was then further assaulted and had property taken from him.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said the route that was taken to Newtown Avenue was via Bishopton Road.
She said: “It is believed they passed three members of the public and as victim was bleeding from the facial injuries police are appealing to any witnesses who may have noticed this to get in touch.”
The victim sustained a broken jaw, bruising and facial swelling to his face as a result of the attack. He was treated at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
The attackers are described as white, both about 5ft 8ins tall, aged about 26 with medium to stocky builds. One had strawberry blonde hair and the other had dark hair.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
