ENTREPRENEUR Duncan Bannatyne picked up a life-long souvenir from his recent travels – his first tattoo.
Those coming home with a ‘holiday tattoo’ are more likely to be hungover teenagers than multi-millionaire businessmen but Mr Bannatyne bucked the trend by getting inked in Australia recently.
While in Sydney, the Dragon’s Den star demonstrated his devotion to his six children by getting their initials inscribed on his forearm.
Mr Bannatyne unveiled the bold lettering in a post on Twitter, where he is followed by more than 700,000 fans.
The tweet, posted yesterday, said “Aged 65 I got my first tattoo in Sydney”.
The accompanying picture sparked debate as to the meaning of the tattoo, which reads AHJEET.
One light hearted commenter joked “That’s no’ how y’spell eejit” but it didn’t take others long to figure out the letters stood for Abigail, Hollie, Jennifer, Eve, Emily and Thomas – the names of his children.
A spokesman for Mr Bannatyne said: “It’s a tasteful tattoo that depicts the first letters of the names of his children.”
