A SCHOOL teacher received a makeover in front of her pupils when she donated her tresses to a cancer support charity.
Helena Teasdale, a year two teacher at Sedgefield Primary School, sacrificed seven inches of hair to help the Little Princess Trust create wigs for children who have lost hair through cancer treatment.
Miss Teasdale, 34, was so nervous as she waited for teaching assistant June Charlton to cut her long locks, she went white with fright.
“I haven’t had short hair for a long time so I was terrified, but I am getting used to it now,” she said.
“Last year, one of my pupils, Grace Rowe, chopped her hair off for the Little Princess Trust and I was very impressed with her. I was determined to follow her example.”
Miss Teasdale has also raised almost £300 for the charity, thanks to donations from friends, colleagues, pupils and parents.
