POLICE are appealing for help to trace a shoplifter who walked out of a store wearing a stolen pair of shoes.
A man with a woman and a small child entered the Boyes store, on Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland at about 12.30pm on Saturday (November 22).
He took a pair of shoes from the rack and tried them on. The man then walked out of the shop in the new shoes without paying for them.
He was white, about 50-years old, of medium build and with short dark hair. He was wearing glasses, a grey top and a green jacket plus black trousers.
The woman was also about 50-years old with medium-length dark hair. She was wearing a red body warmer plus a black top and black leggings.
They were accompanied by a child believed to be about eight-years-old.
Anybody with any information should contact PC Jamie Pitt, of Durham Police, on 101.
