A SENIOR long-serving councillor will stand trial over allegations that she attacked her neighbour.
Councillor Jane Parlour, the chairman of Richmondshire District Council's planning committee, pleaded not guilty to a charge that she assaulted the woman, when she appeared at Northallerton Magistrates Court.
The 52-year-old farmer also denied using threatening language during the alleged incident on July 13, near her home in Dalton on Tees, near Darlington.
Magistrates gave Cllr Parlour unconditional bail and ordered her to return to the court for a trial on February 25.
