FOOTBALL stars will take to the catwalk next week for an annual charity fashion night.

Fashion Strikes takes place on Monday (Nov 24) when Sunderland AFC players become models for the evening at the Stadium of Light.

The annual event will raise money for the Foundation of Light, the club’s charity arm, to help with its award-winning education, sport, health and community programmes.

Foundation of Light chief executive Lesley Spuhler said: "We're really excited about this year's Fashion Strikes.

"Our guests will enjoy a unique-themed evening of carnival fun, fashion, fabulous food and exciting entertainment which will truly be the 'Greatest Show in Sunderland'.

"Special thanks must go to principal sponsors intu Metrocentre and Bidvest 3663 and our event sponsors Precision, Grosvenor Casinos and Lickety Split as without their kind support this event wouldn't be possible.

"We'd also like to thank Sunderland AFC and the players for helping make Fashion Strikes a huge success."

Fashion Strikes will be hosted by Made in Tyne and Wear's news and current affairs presenter Anna Foster and veteran North-East compère Andy Kavanagh.

Memorable prizes, including a signed Cristiano Ronaldo Real Madrid shirt and a Disney on Ice VIP experience at the O2 Arena, will be up for grabs in live and silent auctions with all money raised helping support Foundation of Light's work.

Tickets are available for £125 each or £1,000 for a table of 10 from cherie.lauder@safc.com or call 0191-551-5153.
