THE bravery of 26 of the North-East’s most inspirational children will be recognised at a special ceremony next week.
The annual Bravehearts of the North East awards take place at St James’ Park in Newcastle on Thursday, honouring children from York to Amble who will be arriving for the ceremony in a string of limousines.
Each child will receive a trophy and a gift of their choice, in recognition of the inspirational courage and strength they have shown in battling illness or adversity.
BBC Look North presenter Carol Malia and gold medal winning Paralympian Josef Craig, who has had to overcome his own battle with cerebral palsy to reach the top, will present the awards.
