A NORTH-EAST sailor has graduated from his Royal Navy training.
Able Rate Liam Elliott has completed his phase two training with Victory Squadron at HMS Collingwood, Fareham, Hampshire, and is now a communication information specialist, having learned about sending and receiving information using the specialist communication and IT equipment used by the Navy.
The 21-year-old from Kelloe, County Durham, will now join HMS Diamond.
He said: “I just can’t wait to be out of training and actually doing the job I’ve trained for.
“I’ve met some good friends and I feel more accomplished and mature.”
Mr Elliot is following in the footsteps of his father Stuart, who was in the Army.
