ABANDONED dogs are hoping for a visit from Santa Claus.
Jerry Green Dog Rescue – which has a centre at Catton near Thirsk – has launched its annual shoe box appeal to make Christmas extra special for pooches without a home.
Dog lovers are invited to support the charity’s Christmas campaign by donating a box of toys or treats.
Head of fundraising Catherine Foster said: “Our dogs love rawhide chews, rope toys, bones, hot dogs, tennis balls and squeaky toys; whatever our supporters can donate will be gratefully received.”
Any donations will be gratefully received up to Christmas and into the New Year.
Supporters who are unable to visit the centre can send a cheque marked "Christmas Appeal" to the charity.
