SUNDERLAND fans are being urged to tell the story of their support for the club.

The club’s charity arm, Foundation of Light, is taking part in a digital storytelling project.

Supporters will work with digital storytelling expert Alex Henry at the Stadium of Light before a celebration event where the stories will be displayed.

Run in partnership with Music in the Minster and Sunderland City Council, and with funding from The Cultural Spring and the Joicey Trust, Black Cats’ Stories is part of the larger ‘An Opera for Sunderland’ project.

Black Cats’ Stories will see 16 Sunderland AFC fans creating digital stories about their experiences as Sunderland supporters.

A digital story is a short personal piece of audio-visual that people can create themselves, composed of photographs, sound, moving image or animation usually lasting for two to three minutes.

Phil Cowler, of the Foundation of Light, said: “Foundation of Light has a great track record of using the power of football and Sunderland AFC to engage people of all ages in experiences that enrich their lives. Black Cats’ Stories is a great addition to our portfolio of programmes as it does just that and will be great fun for those taking part.”

Fans interested in taking part should fill out an online form at www.foundationoflight.co.uk or www.surveymonkey.com/r/blackcatsstories, or request a printed version by calling 0191- 551-5191.
