A CHOIR will turn to acting for the first time in its history next month (December).
Members of the Bishop Wearmouth Choral Society are used to focusing all their attention on hitting the right notes.
But for their next show they are taking on a musical theatre version of A Christmas Carol.
The show, titled The Spirit of Christmas, will be in Sunderland Minster on Saturday, December 6, at 7.30pm.
The first half will feature a performance of the popular Christmas section of Handel’s Messiah, before the adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic novel takes centre stage after the interval.
The musical was written by the society’s conductor David Murray, also an acclaimed pianist, and Tony Runham, originally for primary school children.
It has now been updated for adult performers.
Tickets for the one-off show are £15 for the nave, £8 for the gallery, £8 for students and the unwaged and free for accompanied under-16s. Doors open at 6.45pm.
