THREE artists experimented with shed-loads of innovative techniques for their first joint exhibition.
After seven months as artists in residence in The Shed at Greenfield Arts in Newton Aycliffe, textiles expert Anna Cole, from Stockton, fine artist Vicky Holbrough, from Darlington, and graphic designer Nicola Golightly, from Billingham, are ready to showcase their creations.
From eye-catching digital embroidery, sculptures and paper quilts; to videos, etchings and cyanotype prints – Modus Operandi celebrates cutting edge and traditional practises.
The exhibition opens at the art centre, on Greenfield Way, tomorrow (Wednesday, November 18) with a preview evening and winter fair taking place from 5.30pm to 8pm.
The talented trio are the first artists to take advantage of The Shed – a creative workshop that opened in May.
Funded by Great Aycliffe and Middridge Area Action Partnership, The Shed includes a heat press, a digital sewing machine, a laser cutter and much more.
Ms Holbrough said: “It has been wonderful to come here and get to grips with new techniques and technology. We are very pleased with the results.”
After tomorrow (Wednesday, November 18), the exhibition will be open from 10am to 9pm, Monday to Thursday, and from 10am to 4pm on Friday until Thursday, December 18.
