A MAN arrested after climbing onto the roof of a historic library close to Durham Cathedral will face no charges, police have said.
The emergency services were rushed to Durham University’s Palace Green Library, in Durham, in the early hours of Thursday (November 13) after a bag was discovered nearby.
A 22-year-old man was found hiding near the highest point of the library roof at about 6am, helped down and arrested.
A Durham Police spokesman said the man had been interviewed but no further action would be taken.
It remains unclear why he was on the roof.
