A SCHOOL held a special celebration night to recognise students who have gone the extra mile.
The presentation evening at Wolsingham School and Community College on Thursday night (November 13), with dozens of pupils receiving pastoral, curriculum and special achievement awards.
A musical performance from pupils opened the event, and guest speaker Martin Gray gave a speech to the students, along with the chair of governors and headteacher.
Awards were given for perseverance and overcoming difficulty, for academic progress and sporting achievement and for being an outstanding ambassador for the school.
Winners included Hannah Batson, who won The Year 7 Cup, Michelle Robson, who won The Year 13 Cup and Kara Lee, who won The Sir Tom Cowie ICT Cup.
Headteacher, Deborah Merrett, said she was exceptionally proud of her pupils and all that they had achieved.
“Wolsingham School and Community College have celebrated another successful year by recognising the many and varied achievements of students.
"The annual presentation event was an opportunity to celebrate the many qualities of our young people.”
