SAILORS on County Durham’s adopted warship honoured the memory of their predecessors on Armistice Day.
The crew from HMS Bulwark gathered on the flight deck to observe two minutes’ silence at 11am.
There followed a wreath laying service.
Captain Dean Bassett, Bulwark’s commanding officer, said: “Pausing whilst on operations to remember those who have given their life in the service of their country is as relevant and important today as it was 100 years ago.
“Our Remembrance service on the flight deck was a poignant time to reflect on our forefathers killed in both world wars, but also to remember colleagues and friends that have given their lives in more recent conflicts.”
Bulwark is currently on a four-month deployment in the Mediterranean.
