POLICE are appealing for help to reunite a former serviceman with his stolen property.
Damien Jones, a former corporal in the British Army, returned from his holiday on October 25 to find thieves had broken into his garage in Spring Hill, Darlington.
As well as swiping a PlayStation, Xbox and Wii console, the crooks also took a number of items from Mr Jones’ 18-year Army career, including a Lowe Alpine two-man tent, military-style one-man tent, Army equipment and a medical pack with first aid equipment.
The 37-year-old’s Army poncho, featuring his blood group and Army zap number was also taken, and an Army holdall, which has since been recovered.
PC John Forster, of Darlington police, urged anyone who had been offered the items for sale to get in touch.
“He was pleased to have his Army holdall returned but is still hoping that the other stolen items turn up as they have high sentimental value to him as they are direct reminders of his service,” he said.
Anyone with any information can call police on 101.
