Having had some input into using social media to get the best out of it, I now intend to use this blog to keep the people of Darlington informed of all the good things we do as well as some of the things I believe you will be interested in such as executing warrants, large operations and community engagement.
We did have a particularly successful run up to Bonfire night where the Fire Service had a great plan for responding to incidents on the night. We do have an issue at the moment with large groups of youths gathering in the parks of Darlington where they are making themselves vulnerable by drinking alcohol. There is a partnership problem solving plan to tackle this issue which is being managed by the new East Section Sergeant, Catherine Iley. We have had some success in putting them off gathering by patrolling the areas jointly with drugs and alcohol workers, Anti Social Behaviour team, Police and the Alcohol Harm Reduction Unit. The question I would ask of parents is 'do you know where your child is?'.
