A TELEVISION star helped bring a touch of glamour to the re-launch of a North-East charity shop.
Actress Sue Vincent, best known for her appearances in Shameless and Mount Pleasant, travelled to Darlington for re-opening of the town’s British Heart Foundation shop, in Northgate.
Following the shop’s official opening by the mayor of Darlington, Councillor Gerald Lee, Ms Vincent helped out on the shop floor where her mother, Maureen Coleman, has been volunteering for the past six years.
British Heart Foundation area manager, Martin Newton said: “I’d like to thank the people of Darlington for their continual support of the Darlington BHF shops over the years.
“We’re looking forward to being able to offer our customers a brand new, bigger shop in a new location with even more stock to choose from.
“We’ve had an absolutely brilliant response from the Darlington community, receiving a range of quirky and unique items, including shirts and skirts, tea sets and children’s books, but we still need more.”
Donated items can be dropped off at the store. Alternatively a free collection service is available by contacting the shop on 01325-381298.
