DARLINGTON’S Head of Steam railway museum is holding an open day to recruit volunteers to help digitise records.
The taster session will be held at the museum on July 15 from 10.30am to 12.30pm to give people the chance to learn more about the North East Railways in World War One project.
Volunteers are needed to input data and those who attend the taster session will be given the opportunity to handle to archival material and have a go at digitising information.
Staff hope the session will encourage people to volunteer and help the project identify records of railways workers who enlisted during the war, to create an online database which will be made public.
If you would like to attend the session, or would like further information, contact Alison Grange at Alison.Grange@darlington.gov.uk or 01325-734125.
