A MAN arrested on suspicion of the murder of Rachel Wilson has tonight (July 1) been released on police bail.
The 55-year-old, from Middlesbrough, was arrested on Monday morning and interviewed by detectives over the murder of the Middlesbrough teenager after she vanished 12 years ago.
The body of the 19-year-old, who was a known sex worker, was only discovered on an isolated farm track on the outskirts of the town two years ago. Her mother, Tina, has made repeated appeals for anyone with information to come forward.
Rachel, who was last seen at 2.30am on May 31, 2002, when CCTV images showed her walking along Southfield Road, in Middlesbrough town centre.
She was one of three young women to go missing from Middlesbrough in a four year period.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the investigation was ongoing and urged anyone with information to call the force on 101 or independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
