RESURFACING work is set to take place along a stretch of a busy North-East road.
The repairs will be carried out on the A689, between Rushyford and Bradbury , from Friday, July 11 until Friday, July 18.
The scheme is being carried out by Highway Services and is part of Durham County Council’s carriageway resurfacing programme.
Motorists are being advised to expect possible disruption as the work will see three nights of road closures, between 7pm and 7am, from Friday, July 11
The rest of the work will be completed using mobile lane closures for five days, starting on Monday, July 14
The mobile lane closures will be in place between 9.30am and 3.30pm and a convoy system will be used to escort vehicles through the works.
John Reed, Durham County Council’s head of technical services, said: “We appreciate the public’s patience with the unavoidable disruption that may arise as a result of these vital maintenance works.”
