A LANDFILL restoration manager has shaved his head to raise money for a cancer charity which has helped his father.

Callum Duff, 28, who works for Yorwaste in North Yorkshire, raised more than £600 by shaving off his hair.

Mr Duff’s father recently underwent a bone marrow transplant and he will be putting his money towards a £10,000 fundraising target his brother Euan wishes to raise for the Anthony Nolan charity, a blood cancer charity and bone marrow register.

Callum, from Darlington, who works as an aftercare manager responsible for overseeing the restoration of Yorwaste landfill sites, said: “Without charities like Anthony Nolan my dad wouldn’t have got a donor, so Euan and I are both so grateful for their support.

“The process involves chemotherapy so my dad will be going bald a few years earlier than I am sure he anticipated.

“It’s well known within Yorwaste how much I love my hair so I thought the best way of showing my support was to shave it all off.”
