Detectives investigating incidents of indecent exposure in North Yorkshire have issued of picture of a car they need to trace.
The VW Polo, or similar type of vehicle, was caught on camera in Catterick village around the time of the second incident when a man had exposed himself to a young girl in Mowbray Road at around12.25pm on Sunday (June 29).
The same car is also believed to have been used by a man who performed a lewd act in front of a ten-year-old girl in Benkhill Road, Bedale, at around 3.30pm on Saturday (June 28).
In both cases the driver is described as aged in his late forties or fifties, with dark greying hair and a tanned complexion. He was wearing square-shaped glasses.
Detective Inspector Shaun Page, of Northallerton CID who is leading the investigation said: “If you can link a man matching the description to the vehicle caught on CCTV, I urge you to come forward and contact the police straight away.
“I am also asking the driver to contact me if there has been any confusion and he is not linked to these incidents.”
He said neither of the girls was physically injured in the incidents but they were left very upset. Anyone who can help contact North Yorkshire police on 101, select option 2 and ask for Shaun Page, or email shaun.page@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
