SOME of the most famous faces of daytime television will be in Darlington next week.

Antiques experts Philip Serrel and Anita Manning will join host Tim Wonnacott to film Bargain Hunt at Thomas Watson Auctioneers, in Northumberland Street, on Tuesday, July 8.

The team will film four episodes of the BBC show at a sale which is open to the public.

Eight teams of contestants will put their chosen items up for auction, with the film crew at the auction house all day.

Doors open to the public at 8.30am ahead of the sale at 10am.

Thomas Watson auctioneer David Elstob said: “Ours is a really lively saleroom so it’s a great place for Bargain Hunt to film and I’m sure they’ll bring an extra buzz to the auction.

“There are some interesting lots in the sale too so we’re looking forward to welcoming lots of people to Northumberland Street on Tuesday”.

The sale will feature about 600 lots including a rare album of Darlington postcards and an unusual Newcastle United crested china football, along with a number of jewellery, furniture and collectables lots.

The catalogue is available to view online at thomaswatson.com from Friday, July 4.
