POLICE have today arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of murdering a teenager 12 years ago.
Rachel Wilson, 19, was last seen in the Woodlands Road area of Middlesbrough on the morning of May 31, 2002.
Her remains were found in June 2012 in a secluded location at Newham Hall Farm on the outskirts of Middlesbrough.
A statement released by Cleveland Police this morning said: "Detectives investigating the murder of Rachel Wilson have arrested a 55-year-old man on suspicion of her murder at an address in Middlesbrough this morning.
"The man is currently in police custody.
"Rachel’s family have been informed of the arrest."
Last week Rachel's mother Tina made an impassioned plea for information about her daughter's death.
