POLICE are trying to trace a dog owner after a woman was bitten while walking at Castle Eden Dene, near Peterlee, on Wednesday, June 25.
The woman was caring for an adult with learning difficulties who was shaken and upset by the incident. A police spokesman said the dog walker made no attempt to put the dog on the lead, having been asked several times to do so.
The dog was a white and grey husky with a harness, while the owner was a male in his mid to late 50s. He was carrying a rucksack and wearing shorts and walking shoes. Anyone with information should contact the police on 101.
