FOOTBALL film Escape To Victory could be set for a replay after reports a new version is on the cards.
Director Doug Liman, whose films include Swingers and The Bourne Identity, is said to have signed up to take charge of the project, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The 1981 original, about a team of prisoners-of-war who play against a German team in Nazi-occupied Paris while planning an escape, famously featured a mixed cast of professional footballers and actors.
Sylvester Stallone, who played goalkeeper Captain Robert Hatch, shared the screen with Michael Caine, Pele and Bobby Moore.
The film, directed by John Huston, also featured players including John Wark, Russell Osman and Mike Summerbee among the cast.
In 2011, Northallerton played an Escape to Victory-themed friendly against Liversedge with funds going to the Help For Heroes charity and the Corporal Ben Hyde Memorial Fund.
