TEARS streamed down the face of a young man as he was sentenced to two years in prison for drugs offences.
Liam Moseley wept throughout his hearing at Teesside Crown Court and howled as he was sent to jail after admitting being concerned in the supply of cocaine.
The 26-year-old of Fulbeck Road, Netherfields, Middlesbrough, had also pleaded guilty to two charges of possession of a class B drug with intent to supply, and one of being in possession of cocaine.
Rachel Masters, prosecuting, said officers executed a search warrant at his house in Conifer Close, Ormesby, on July 12 last year and found a number of bags containing MCAT and cocaine.
They also found drug paraphernalia, cannabis, and mobile phones containing incriminating text messages.
In mitigation, Robert Mochrie said his client, who has no previous convictions, had been a long-term drug user and was selling drugs to pay off a debt.
He said Moseley had been in full time employment for six years and was "incredibly distressed" after finding out he could be sent to prison.
Mr Mochrie asked Judge George Moorhouse to suspend any custodial sentence.
He said: “Mr Moseley is clearly distressed as he sits in court - that is not for the benefit of your honour.
“Being caught has served as a massive wake-up call to him."
Judge Moorhouse sentenced Moseley to two years in prison and ordered him to pay a £100 victim surcharge.
