A VENOMOUSLY named real ale has been specially brewed to honour a community theatre group’s summer production.
Last month, The Castle Players, based in Barnard Castle, launched a competition to name the brew, using Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet as the theme.
The winning title was What’s Your Poison, suggested by Kevin Brown.
Mr Brown joined several group members at Mithril Ales, in Aldborough St John, near Richmond, in North Yorkshire, today (Tuesday) to see the ale being brewed and add the hops.
The ale will be served at The Old Well Inn, in Barnard Castle.
Rehearsals are underway for the Castle Players performance of Romeo Juliet, which runs in the grounds of the Bowes Museum, in Barnard Castle, for five consecutive nights from Tuesday, July 8 to Saturday, July 12, at 7.30pm each evening.
Ticket prices range from £5 to £20.
They are available from the museum, Darlington Building Society, in Barnard Castle, and the Castle Players website.
