POLICE are appealing for witnesses after thieves stole diesel from wagons parked at a factory site.
The theft took place at at Permoid Industries, on Horndale Avenue, on Newton Aycliffe Business Park, at 9.50pm on Sunday. (June 22)
CCTV footage showed a black Vauxhall Astra pulling up to the main gate of the factory.
A woman wearing shorts and two men got out of the vehicle before the men went on to the factory site to remove diesel from the two wagons.
One of the men wore a black balaclava and the other had a distinctive blue hooded top with a large horizontal blue band on the back.
Inspector Mark Hall, from the Newton Aycliffe neighbourhood team, said: “At the time of the theft it was still daylight.
“CCTV footage shows cyclists and cars driving past the suspect vehicle while the offence was taking place.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time to contact us, as they may have information that could assist our enquiries.”
