DUE to unprecedented demand, an extra 600 places have been released for this year's Bupa Junior & Mini Great North Run.
This year’s Mini run, for three to eight year olds, reached its entry limit in record time, with organisers Nova announcing in May that entries were full.
Nova confirmed today that they have been able to increase the capacity of the event, which is held on the 6th September on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
Event Manager, Joe Milner said, “We’ve been blown away by the response to this year’s event, so many people were getting in touch to ask about places after we reached capacity, we wanted to try our best to accommodate them.
“We’ve been working closely with our location partners, Newcastle City Council and Gateshead Council to safely expand the size of the event and we’re looking forward to welcoming more children than ever in September.”
