POLICE are repeating their appeal for information after a much-loved cat was killed by three dogs.
The incident took place behind Harwood Court, Trimdon Grange, near Sedgefield, on Sunday, May 18, at about 12.30pm.
Owner of tabby cat Nutmeg, Gary Rodgers, said it was distressing for him and his 15-year-old daughter to witness the attack and appealed for help in getting justice.
“Apparently this kind of attack goes on quite a lot round here,” he said. “To see what happened was absolutely awful. He was a very popular cat and he even had his own Facebook page.”
The owner of the dogs is described as white, about 5ft 10ins, of medium build, in his late teens/early 20s, with short dark hair.
The dogs were a black small terrier type with red/black handkerchief, a small dark/blue colouring lurcher type dog and a large dark lurcher type dog.
Anyone with any information should call Durham Police on 101.
