A TEENAGER has appeared in court charged with robbing a pensioner for her handbag.
Michael Kingshott is accused of robbing the 75-year-old woman in Meadowfield, in Durham, on June 14.
Mr Kingshott, 18, of Holyoake Street in Pelton appeared at Peterlee Magistrates's Court this morning.
No plea was entered and Mr Kingshott was remanded into custody to appear at Durham Crown Court on July 7.
He did admit one charge of criminal damage caused to a police cell after his arrest.
The court heard he scratched his name into the cell wall.
He will be sentenced at crown court after the robbery matter is resolved.
