RESIDENTS at a Bishop Auckland care home enjoyed a vintage-themed event as part of a national open day.
Staff at Barrington Lodge Care Home dressed in clothing from the Second World War while residents sampled a buffet made up of food available from that era and got to look around a 1985 vintage car.
There was also a variety of entertainment on offer and army reservists were on hand to talk to people in the home.
Barbara Summers, of Barrington Lodge Care Home, said: βIt has been absolutely fantastic. We have held a street party in the garden and everyone has really enjoyed it. The residents have really benefitted from the day.β
