AN INTERNATIONAL food market has opened in the North-East.
The International Market will be in Durham Market Place today (Friday, June 20) and tomorrow from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
Treats on offer include Spanish tapas and paella, Moroccan tagine, Italian biscuits and sweets and a Polish barbecue.
There is also clothing, accessories, furniture and jewellery on offer.
Councillor John Robinson, the Mayor of Durham, visited the market today.
He said: “It’s great to see such an impressive mix of retailers from across the world all together in one place and particularly appropriate given the current World Cup.”
Colin Wilkes, managing director of Durham Markets, said: “Our continental food markets are always popular. It’s another great reason to visit Durham this weekend.”
