CLEVELAND Police officers will make live television appeals on BBC One next week in the hope viewers can turn into armchair detectives.

Crimewatch Roadshow will be broadcast live from the region from Monday to Friday at 9.15am and will feature high profile cases, including the search for missing Scott Fletcher from Hartlepool who hasn’t been seen since May 11, 2011.

Other investigations highlighted will be a serious assault on a man in Middlesbrough, a sexual assault and an aggravated burglary which has led a family to sell their home.

Broadcasting will be based in the force area on Monday, June 23, and Thursday, June 26, but Cleveland cases will featured most days.

The programme will also feature proactive operations and will show Cleveland Police Dog Section training their newest canine recruits.

Detective Chief Superintendent Darren Best, Head of Crime at Cleveland Police, said: “Crimewatch Roadshow goes out to over a million people nationally every day and so we are hopeful that we may get some new information in relation to our unsolved crimes.

“We have taken the opportunity to feature a number of cases on the programme and we would hope that anyone watching the show who may have information would come forward and speak to us about what they know.

“The show will also promote some of our work which usually goes unseen by the public, such as police dog training and firearms training.”
