WOMEN attending a charity event gave Royal Ascot Ladies' Day fashionistas a run for their money.
About 100 women who attended the fundraising event at Crathorne Hall, near Yarm, dressed to impress with a competition for the best hat, while watching all the action from the racing on big screens and enjoying afternoon tea.
Funds raised will go to small local charity We Can Dance, which funds dance teachers and workshops for disabled children at special needs schools in Darlington, Stockton, Morton-on-Swale and Bedale in North Yorkshire.
Organiser Heather Scott said: “So far on the raffle today we have raised more than £500 which is fantastic, and that will be added to £3,700 from a concert we held recently.
“We have been having a wonderful day at Crathorne Hall, the ladies look wonderful and would certainly impress at Ascot.”
As well as a raffle and best hat competition, guests took part in games and fun bets for picking the most winning horses.
