FILM crews have arrived in the region’s tourism capital to film another TV costume drama.
York, which last year formed much of the backdrop for the BBC’s Death Comes to Pemberley, is being used for filming some of the scenes in Knifeman.
It features the actor Tom Hollander who played a vicar in the hit BBC sitcom Rev and recently played the poet Dylan Thomas in another TV drama.
He plays John Tattersal, who runs an unlicensed operating theatre at his home in 18th century London and harvests human organs for his brother Julian, a doctor.
Joanna Page, who played Stacey in the popular BBC romcom Gavin & Stacey, also features in the drama.
Filming has been taking place in the historic cobbled Shambles and Chapter House Street is also being used in the production.
The pilot show is being produced by AMC, the US production company behind such hits as Mad Men and Breaking Bad.
