VISITORS to a railway museum will be able to see a 3D scan of a new model engine which is to go on sale.
Rapido is teaming up with Locomotionmodels.com to create the model which is to be based on an as yet unknown engine in the national railway collection.
The event will allow visitors to see the 3D scan take place and the finished model will be cast and put on sale exclusively at the Shildon museum.
The 3D Scan Railway Party is taking place at Locomotion: The National Railway Museum at Shildon on Tuesday, June 24, from 10am to 5pm.
Visitors will also receive guided tours of vehicles at Locomotion which are not normally open to the public and see displays of model trains.
Entry is £10 per adult and free to children who are aged 13-years and under and places need to be booked in advance.
