CREATIVE residents have decorated their rural village with numerous scarecrows as part of its carnival celebrations.
More than 30 scarecrows have appeared around Cotherstone, in County Durham, for the village’s annual scarecrow trail, which has a theme of Who Am I.
Among the most eye-catching creations are scarecrows of Mr Blobby and the late singer Amy Winehouse.
They started appearing at the start of this week, in public spaces, the primary school grounds and outside houses, following the village’s carnival weekend, and will remain in position until Sunday, June 29.
