THREE of North-East’s television stars were honoured by the Royal Television Society at a ceremony on Tyneside.
Gina McKee, star of BBC2 comedy, Hebburn and Sky Atlantic's The Borgias, won Performance of the Year, Robson Green’s Tales from Northumberland, shown on ITV, was named Best Factual programme and Pam Royle, host of ITV Tyne Tees and Border News, picked up the award for Presenter of the Year.
It was an emotional moment for the presenter who recently celebrated her 30th year on screen.
Vera – the ITV detective series set in Northumberland starring Brenda Blethyn – was named Best Drama.
Jacqui Hodgson, editor of the BBC’s long-running regional current affairs programme Inside Out picked up the Centre Award from RTS chief executive Theresa Wise.
BBC Breakfast Business Presenter, Middlesbrough-born Steph McGovern hosted the ceremony which showcases the best of television and digital media production in the North-East and Borders.
