A RESCUE team searched through the night only to discover the woman they were looking for had gone home by herself.
The Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team was called out by North Yorkshire Police at 3am today (Sunday, March 2) to search for a missing 57-year-old woman from the Northallerton area.
A total of 25 members answered the call and, along with the team's search dog, Fern, focused on the Ingleby Arncliffe area, near Northallerton by the A19.
Shortly after 7am, just as the Cleveland Team were in the process of calling on the assistance of the Scarborough and Ryedale Rescue Team, the police reported that the woman had returned home safe and well.
Malcolm Selby, team leader with the Cleveland Mountain Rescue Team, said: “Obviously, everyone involved was delighted that the woman turned up safe and well and as a team we were happy to have provided support and assistance.”
