A SPONSORED skydive in aid of the Heel and Toe children’s charity in Durham is being held at Peterlee Parachute Centre on Saturday, April 26.

EXERCISE CLASS: A gentle seated exercise class for people over 65 is being held at Blackhill Community Centre, near Consett, from Tuesday March 4, from 10.30am-11.30am.

IRISH NIGHT: Stanley Civic Hall is holding an Irish Night to celebrate St Patrick’s Day on Monday, March 17, featuring music from The Dust Town Dogs. Doors open at 7pm for an 8pm start. Tickets costing £5 can be booking by calling 01207-218899.

LIVE MUSIC: Consett Lions holds a charity spring concert at St Patrick’s Church Hall in Consett on Saturday, March 22, from 7.30pm with music from four solo singers and Consett Junior Brass. KEEP FIT: A fun and friendly Exercise to Music class for the over 50's is being held at Ebchester Community Centre every Monday from 9.30am to 10.30 am. Classes cost £2 per session. Call Age UK County Durham on 01207-280119 for more information.

CHI KUNG: St Mary's Parish Centre in Chester-le-Street is holding a Chi Kung class for the over 50's.

People can come and try a free session and reported benefits include increased general health and well being, reduced levels of stress and improved balance.

PLAY GROUP: A pre-school playgroup takes place at the Lanchester Community Centre every morning from 9.15am to 11.15am during term time.

A Tiny Tots session for children up to two years old also runs on Wednesdays and Fridays between 9.15am and 10.45am.
