EXTRA police will be on patrol as fans get together to watch the cup final.
With many of the region’s pubs screening the match, police are calling on Sunderland fans to enjoy it peacefully.
Chief Superintendent Steve Neill of Northumbria Police said: “We want people to enjoy watching what is a great sporting event for the North-East, while behaving responsibly.
“We want our cities and town centres to be a safe place for all and to celebrate what is a fantastic achievement for Sunderland football club.”
Police will be patrolling busy areas around pubs and clubs and troublemakers are warned they may be banned. To report crime or disorder, call 101.
