POLICE are hunting vandals who deliberately splattered the garden gates and wall of a home with red paint.
The attack in Appleton Wiske, near Northallerton, was the latest in a series of incidents when the property has been targeted in recent months.
The latest happened last Saturday, February 22, when the suspects pulled up outside the bungalow in a small, light-coloured Peugeot car.
They got out of the vehicle and poured paint over the gates and garden wall before damaging an intercom which is built into the wall.
PC Catherine Skelton said: “The property has been targeted on a number of occasions in the past five months.
“The garden wall and gates have recently been installed following a previous incident in which paint was poured over a newly-laid driveway.”
She added: “The victims are naturally very upset about what has happened and I am appealing to anyone who can assist our investigation to contact us without delay.”
Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious on Hornby Road on the night of February 22 or knows anything which could help the investigation, is urged to contact the police.
Contact North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for PC Catherine Skelton or email Catherine.skelton@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
